Dr. Neely graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Theater and double major in Psychology. She finds her background in the arts to be enriching to her clinical work.
Dr. Neely earned her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, the oldest existing Psy.D. program in the country. The Psy.D. differs from a Ph.D. in that it focuses on human development, clinical diagnosis, and treatment methods. Whereas the Ph.D. is better designed for research and academia.
As a life long learner, Dr. Neely continues to pursue additional training in the psychological care of children. She has a passion for integrative methods and treating the root cause of behavior. She is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach who will will take a whole child approach to your child's mental health.
Dr. Erin Neely grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. and greatly appreciates growing up in such a culturally diverse community. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and graduate training from Widener University. When shaping her training experiences, Dr. Neely focused on developing a generalist practice. She worked with adults, adolescents, children, and families. She trained in in-patient and out patient settings. She worked as a consultant to family court, a behavior specialist supervisor, and in substance abuse treatment. Each experience contributed to Dr. Neely's unique knowledge base. Over time she came to see what others had always said to her; she belongs working with children. Since shifting her practice to pediatrics 16 years ago, she has only become more sure of that commitment.
Sometimes while in session, her patients ask her what she does for work. She happily tells them, "This," meaning playing with them. Universally, they say something like, "Lucky." And she agrees.
